Marni Market comes back to Umeda Hankyu Department store in Osaka for all the Japanese Marni lovers and this summer relives the suggestive atmosphere of Salone del Mobile 2018.
The artisan workmanship, which has always been a distinctive feature of the Marni projects is expressed through further collaborations with communities in different areas of Colombia to which Marni brings an innovative approach.

The set up of the pop up store, located at the third floor of the mall, tells a very special story that finds its origins and inspiration in the traditions of city markets around the world, where each element reflects the aesthetic paradigm of the brand, defined by the harmonious balance of shapes, materials and colors.
The result is a series of furnishings and accessories. The famous chairs explore unexpected forms; the backs open into striking peacock tails, the usual PVC weaves give way every so often to a new texture that has a loom-woven effect.

The baskets made by weaving willow stems and branches, a centuries-old tradition that is handed down from father to son, have their construction reworked: for the first time the artisans add filaments of coloured plastic to the wicker weave.
The bags that Marni block-prints in rich colours are made of organic agave fibre, while
colourful hammocks in loom-woven cotton, are a legacy of the communities that populate the country’s Atlantic coast.

All of them depict a universe that goes beyond fashion and define a lifestyle that can be lived
with a sense of joyfulness, characterized by a blend of irony and creativity.

Marni Market stops at Umeda Hankyu Departments store in Osaka from the 29th August until the 4th September.
