Marni Flower Market
Milan, Fashion Week. Marni launches Marni Prisma with the opening of the Marni Flower Market under the porticos of the Rotonda della Besana.
Consuelo Castiglioni has always been drawn to flower markets and their vibrant colours and vitality which is why flowers have always been an intrinsic part of the Marni style code and floral prints are often used in the collections.
The Marni Flower Market was coordinated by Carolina Castiglioni, Marni’s Special Projects Creative Director with the artistic supervision of Stefano Tabolli Pansera within the Basilica; stylised facades of homes were enriched with swathes of flowers and a selection of Marni products. Items for sale included PVC vase holders, Marni shoppers and a new series of animal sculptures that were handcrafted by Colombian women.
For this special event, Marni collaborated with MUBA, (The Children’s Museum of Milan), the offices of which are located at the Rotonda della Besana, with a series of workshops for children that was open to the general public. Part of the sales was donated to the Vimala association in support of their project in India, which provides severely disabled Tibetan children with medical care and housing.
