Like every year, Marni is renewing its commitment to support charitable causes and is presenting the new Marni Ark project for Christmas 2018.
Marni Ark is a fun group of sculpture animals, halfway between crafts and artworks, which, over the course of 2018, accompanied the openings of new Marni boutiques all over the world: the Florence store presented a hen, the new store in Madison Avenue, New York was celebrated with a fawn, a bull was the star in Rome and finally a rooster became the symbol of the Parisian boutique in Rue St-Honoré.
Each of them was skilfully handmade by a community of women in eastern Columbia. Entirely made from papier-mâché and beads, these creations are truly unique pieces that each require four days of work.
The Marni universe, which has always been characterized by its naivety and carefree style, welcomes these characters as though they were travellers, each focused on a different destination, where they bring Marni’s passion for unique, fairytale objects which are born from the imagination and do not take themselves too seriously.
Starting from December and throughout the festive season, the Marni Ark animals gather in boutiques, welcoming two new members to the group: a donkey and a pig.
Every Marni Ark piece will contribute to a very special cause: part of the proceeds will be given to Only The Brave Foundation, the not-for-profit organization of OTB, parent company of Marni, that supports many different charity projects worldwide. This year the donations will benefit “La casa sull’albero” project, promoted by Piccolo Principe S.C.S Onlus (www.piccoloprincipe.va.it), to support children and families involved in adoption and foster care in the province of Milan.
The Marni Ark animals will be available in boutique starting from December 2018.
