An approach to design that begins by stripping a garment down to its fundamental essence, then expanding this essence into space—giving way to a silhouette that is both sophisticated and exaggerated, minimalist and maximalist. Curated with block colors, our monolithic garments are at once powerfully expressive and paradoxical.

One of the foundational pillars of Marni’s design lexicon, the monolithic shape manifests across our collections—whether its sleek silk duchesse garments with geometric precision, voluminous balloon skirts in ribbed cotton, or maxi sneakers with cartoon-like flair—Marni’s design philosophy remains rooted in the study of form and line, boldly expressed through monochromatic statements.

By eschewing decorative excess, relying instead on compact surfaces and sharply defined lines to harness the innate power of color, three-dimensional garments appear deceptively two-dimensional, in their sleek construction. Color, in turn, is totemic: orange, pink, green, and cobalt blue, expressed in their purest, almost archetypal form.
